Tiandy is a Chinese brand specialising in professional surveillance systems, and we carry eight items from it between 39 and 520 KWD. They split into two levels with different purposes. Single Wi-Fi cameras for a home or a small shop: TC-C38XQ and TC-C38WQ at 8MP with two way audio and colour night vision, and TC-C35XQ and TC-C35WQ at 5MP for indoor and outdoor use. Complete bundles for anyone who wants a system rather than a camera: four indoor 4MP or outdoor 8MP cameras with a 4K recorder and a 2TB drive, and eight cameras at 4MP or 8MP with a 4K recorder and a 4TB drive. The essential difference is that a bundle records to a local drive with no monthly subscription and keeps weeks of footage, while a single camera relies on a memory card or the cloud. Higher resolution also fills a drive faster.

A bundle or a single camera?

A bundle is cheaper and simpler if you are starting from scratch, since it comes with a matched recorder and drive. A single camera suits someone with an existing system who wants to add one position.

4MP or 8MP?

The difference shows when you zoom into the recording. 4MP suits interiors and nearby entrances, and 8MP is for reading a number plate or a face from a distance.
