What actually changes the price?
- Area: the biggest factor. Front-end coverage protects the zone that takes the large majority of stone strikes for a fraction of full-body cost.
- Film thickness: 8.5 mil gives more absorption margin than the thin films commonly sold, and costs more because there is simply more material.
- Material: flexible self-healing TPU versus PVC that cracks and yellows — this is the reason for the huge price spread in the market.
- Paint condition before fitting: if the paint is oxidised or has swirl marks, a corrective polish (KD 45) first is recommended, because film preserves the current condition, it does not fix it.
How long does the work take?
Full body needs two to three working days. That is not slowness, it is a quality condition: more time means cleaner edges and tighter wrapping around the extremities. Work is done indoors in a dust-free bay, because a single particle under the film stays visible for as long as the film is on.
The protection department works Saturday to Thursday, 9 AM–9 PM, and is closed on Friday; you can still drop the car off on Friday and work starts on the next working day.
Is it worth the cost?
Weigh it against the alternative: repainting a single panel at an approved centre is not cheap, and the resale gap between intact factory paint and a repainted car is not small either.
