Why tinting in Kuwait is an engineering decision, not a cosmetic one
In a summer that passes 50°C, a parked cabin turns into an oven within minutes. Most of the heat entering through the glass is infrared, and your air conditioning spends its time fighting that instead of cooling the air. You get a cabin that cools slowly, higher fuel use, and an interior that fades and cracks over the years.
A heat-rejecting film reflects that radiation rather than blocking light. That is exactly why "darker" is not "cooler" — the single most common misconception in this market.

The rule: compare films by TSER, and choose VLT based on your night vision and what the regulations allow. A seller who only talks about "tint percentage" and never mentions TSER is talking about colour, not heat.
Which shade should I pick?
- 50% (darker): more visual privacy from outside.
- 30% (lighter): clearer night vision with the same excellent heat rejection — the insulation comes from the material, not the colour.
Practical advice: do not choose from photos. Ask to see a sample fitted on your own car's glass; lighting and factory glass change how a shade feels.
Is tinting allowed in Kuwait?
The windscreen is not tinted — that is consistent across Kuwaiti sources, which is why our package covers the side and rear windows only. For the permitted darkness on side windows, the reference is the General Traffic Department instructions in force at the time of fitting, and we fit the shade you choose within them. Nano-ceramic helps here in a practical way: because the rejection comes from the material, you can stay on a lighter, compliant shade and still get real cooling.
If your concern about the windscreen is stone chips rather than heat, the right answer is a clear 4 mil windscreen protection film, not tint.
What does it cost and how long does it take?
American nano-ceramic tint for sides and rear is KD 50, fitted at the NewTech shop in Al-Rai by appointment in two to three hours, with a ten-year warranty.
Opening note: the tinting department works Saturday to Thursday, 9 AM to 9 PM, and is closed on Friday — you can still drop the car off on Friday and work starts on the next working day.
After fitting: three days decide the result
- Do not roll the windows down for 2–3 days until the adhesive dries completely.
- Slight haze or small bubbles in the first days are normal and disappear as it dries.
- After that, clean the glass with an ammonia-free cleaner and a microfibre cloth.

Does tint affect phone or car remote signals?
No. Nano-ceramic contains no metal layers, so it does not interfere with your phone, GPS or car remote — unlike metallic films.
Does it turn purple over time?
No. Purpling is a problem of cheap dyed films. Our film carries a ten-year warranty against discolouration and peeling.
Is darker cooler?
