A smart lock opens the door by fingerprint, code or app instead of a key, and the first question when buying one in Kuwait is not which brand but which type of door: wood, aluminium or glass. What unlocking methods are available?
Fingerprint is fastest for daily use. Face recognition opens without touching anything. A code is useful for guests and service staff because it can be created and cancelled. The app opens the door remotely and shows a log of who entered and when. Most models also have a mechanical key as a fallback.
What happens if the battery runs out?
The lock warns you well before it does. If it drains completely, depending on the model it opens through emergency power from a power bank via the USB port, or with the mechanical key.
Can it be fitted to a rented apartment door?
Yes in most cases, because fitting replaces the cylinder and the handle and the originals can be put back when you leave. Send us a photo of the door and its thickness and we will identify the right model.
Installation takes place at your location and includes programming, fingerprint enrolment and a walkthrough. If you need to add a fingerprint or a part later, the programming service is available.

How to choose
- Door type: wooden, aluminum, exterior iron and glass doors each need a different lock body. A lock designed for a wooden door will not fit a narrow aluminum frame. This is the first thing to check.
- Door size: measure the door thickness and the distance from its edge to the center of the handle (Backset). A size mismatch is the most common reason locks are returned.
- Unlocking methods: fingerprint for daily use, face for those carrying things, code and card for domestic workers and guests, and the app for remote unlocking and granting temporary access.
- Connectivity: a lock connected to Wi-Fi through an app lets you track the access log and open the door remotely, while an unconnected lock works locally only.
